Independents Speak Out

September 4, 2006 (London, UK) — Members of the Independent Consultants Group (ICG) have been invited to speak at two prestigious London events during September, taking the stage along with leaders from marketing and market research agencies and businesses.

Tim Williams, Chairman of the ICG, says, "The ICG is increasingly being recognised as the ideal gateway to help buyers to find independent consultants who can implement their specific research and marketing needs. This is the first time that the ICG has been invited by Marketing Week Conferences and we are proud to be associated with them. We are also pleased to have been invited together with the MRS to chair the conference’s proceedings. "

Williams will be chairing Day Two of Marketing Week’s Market Research Forum. He’ll also be chairing a 40-minute panel discussion on "Client and agency relations – finding the common ground for an effective business partnership" on Thursday 7 September. Williams, who runs his own consultancy Blue Chip Research in the UK, is currently working on a global project with Nestle at their headquarters in Switzerland.

Also getting heard in September are two senior level Independent Consultants, Peter Hutton of BrandEnergy Research, and Anumita Sharma of The Third Eye, who will both be speaking at the ESOMAR Congress in London.

Sharma, an expert in International Research, will be speaking on "Strategies to Awaken our Powers of Intuition" on Monday 18 September. Says Sharma, "It is important for corporates, entrepreneurs and the business community to reactivate their sixth sense, our internal third eye. It is my belief that good research is an aid, a form of data gathering which helps us make good predictive decisions for business. As an Independent Consultant, I see how this approach is being embraced by industry leaders, entrepreneurs and SME’s to really understand how their target audiences think and operate, so they can make a better impact. "

Hutton, a seasoned conference speaker, will be addressing the ESOMAR Congress on Tuesday 19 October with his talk: "Reconstructing market research for the 21st Century". Says Hutton, "Business thinking has moved on since the time different strands of research were first developed, but research is still feeding the old paradigms. Speaking as an independent my view is that market research needs to focus on a new set of realities in order to thrive in the 21st century."

The Independent Consultants Group has also been invited by ESOMAR to have a presence at the event and to give an opportunity to Congress delegates to meet some of its members, which will be next to the coffee area by the Benjamin Brittan Lounge.
