Independent Advice on Direct Marketing Research

As part of its progressive developments to extend and diversify, the organisers of THE INTERNATIONAL DIRECT MARKETING FAIR are pleased to announce that the INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS GROUP (ICG) will be conducting the new RESEARCH CONSULTANCY CLINIC, at the 2008 Fair, 29 APRIL – 1 MAY 2008, EARLS COURT 2, LONDON.

In direct response to visitor research, the RESEARCH CONSULTANCY CLINIC is being introduced to meet the demands of the modern marketer. The ICG – Europe’s largest professional organisation of independent market research consultants – is the ideal partner to host this new aspect of the marketing industry’s premier showcase event.

ICGs experts, pooled from the organisation's 300+ members, will be on hand to offer specialist advice to those wishing to gain a finer insight into how to undertake market research, understand the techniques involved and learn more about how to put this vital element of a campaign into practice.

Those participating in the free-to-attend Clinic will receive personalised appointments lasting up to 45 minutes, with research professionals working in their required area of expertise, to discuss their specific issues in confidence. This service is open to all pre-registered visitors and exhibitors alike via an online booking system.

"Marketing Managers often have questions about market research and don't know who to ask for help," said Andrew Smith, Chairman of the ICG. "The INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS GROUP is delighted to offer visitors to THE INTERNATIONAL DIRECT MARKETING FAIR 08 the opportunity to gather advice and exchange ideas about any issue relating to market research. Consultants with specific experience of Direct Marketing business issues and research solutions will staff our clinic. This is a rare opportunity for marketing professionals to receive free specialist and independent advice on a question or issue related to market research without any obligation for ongoing services, which we believe will enhance the experience of visitors at next year's Fair."

Chris James, Exhibition Director, was enthusiastic about the research sector and its place in the marketing industry and at THE INTERNATIONAL DIRECT MARKETING FAIR. "The visitors to the show, marketing managers and marketing directors, made their point very clearly in the on-site research we gathered at this year’s exhibition.

"In the feedback we've received, we can see that responsibility for commissioning and analysing research has shifted to the marketing teams. As a result, there is a new demand for research content at THE INTERNATIONAL DIRECT MARKETING FAIR. Our audience, of predominantly senior marketers, are looking for research seminars offering practical tips and in-depth help with their research challenges in the form of consultancy clinics.

It is clear that marketing teams are asking questions such as what type of research can they conduct themselves? How can web based tools help them? What can they outsource? What are the benefits of using a consultancy? The new ICG RESEARCH CONSULTANCY CLINIC will be designed to offer answers and help with all these questions.
