BIG Forum meeting - Tuesday 2nd Feb

ORC International, opposite Angel tube, Islington LONDON N1

2nd February 2010
The state of the economy and how did it impact on B2B markets and research. Talk by Dave Skelsey, Director of Strictly financial, plus ample time for networking. Following Dave’s very popular presentation at the Spring BIG Forum in April 09 where he gave a fascinating talk about the economic climate and its impact on market research and B2B research in particular, Dave will be revisiting his predictions to see just which have come true including: Has there been an increase in qualitative and/or online research? Are clients undertaking more of their own research? Have survey sample sizes got smaller, not larger? As before Dave will also review the general economic climate at the start of the New Year and determine what the future holds and how the needs and focus of B2B research buyers and practitioners may continue to be affected. Dave has been working in research for a number of years, specialising in qualitative research in the financial sector. He set up Strictly Financial with Claire Labrum in January 2007 Please make a note in your 2010 diary. We expect there to be a lot of interest in this Forum. We look forward to seeing you there. The BIG Forum is part of the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) and exists to provide business-to informal setting. Meetings represent a chance to ‘network’ with your friends and colleagues while catching up on the latest thinking in business-to-business research. BIG members enjoy free admission to evening meetings. Non-members are welcome for a small fee of £5. For our normal evening meetings (see programme below) there is no need to pre-book. Just turn up on the night and feel free to bring a colleague (or two). We meet at 6.00 for drinks and nibbles prior to a 6.30 start. ICG Training morning - Boosting Personal Productivity

Grosvenor Hotel, 101 Buckingham Place Road (next to Victoria Stn), London SW1

12th May 2010

There are lots of rewards and challenges for the self-employed, but they can't be overcome without energy; and nothing saps our energy like stress.

So in this 3 hour training session we're going to the heart of the matter, with three top class life coaches giving us practical techniques to help raise our energy levels and handle stress and relationships.

Hear from David Buswell, Bill Ford and Dawn Goldsmith in this interactive and informal 3-hour session. Networking over a pub lunch to follow (optional/extra cost).

David Buswell will be helping us to recognise and overcome stress, leading us through two simple relaxation techniques. He will give you some tips on how to say 'No' – and mean it!

Bill Ford is a former market researcher and marketing director and the author of ‘High Energy Habits – the busy person’s guide to more energy without diets or exercise’. He will help us identify what is draining energy and what to do about it and what is raising our energy.

Dawn Goldsmith, an experienced business coach, will run an interactive session on building relationships with clients and suppliers. Dawn's background is in TV and journalism, as a former business producer for the BBC and CNN, producing the business news on BBC1’s Breakfast programme for seven years and CNN’s Business International and Asian Business News.

Date: Wednesday 12th May. Time: 9.30 to 12.30 Venue: Bessborough Room, Grosvenor Hotel, 101 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 0SJ

We're keeping the cost low, £40, making it exceptional value for money. If you would like to come please book a place with me and bring a cheque for £40 on the day.
